Mondak combines welding, fabrication and machining to repair what is damaged, reproduce what is no longer available and adapt equipment when the original solution no longer makes sense.
Sometimes the Part You Need Isn't Available to Order
A broken bracket, worn shaft, cracked mount or obsolete component can stop a machine just as effectively as an engine or hydraulic failure.
The difference is that there may not be a replacement sitting on a shelf.

Pins & Bushings
Pins and bushings are common wear items across heavy equipment.
We can support repairs involving:

- Crane pivots
- Telehandler joints
- Rail equipment
- Agricultural equipment
- Industrial machinery
If the original pin or bushing is no longer available, machining may provide another path.

Obsolete Parts
Older equipment is one of the places fabrication and machining become especially valuable.
A component may be:
- Discontinued
- Unsupported
- Backordered indefinitely
- Available only used
- Superseded by something that does not fit
- Completely obsolete
That does not automatically mean the machine is finished.
Depending on the component, Mondak may be able to:
- Repair the original
- Rebuild it
- Machine a replacement
- Fabricate a replacement
- Cross-reference another component
- Modify a mounting system
- Adapt newer equipment
- Build the pieces needed to make a modern replacement work
Sometimes keeping an older machine working requires building the solution instead of ordering it.
Modified Equipment
Not every machine still matches the parts book.
Over its life, equipment may have been:
- Repowered
- Replumbed
- Rewired
- Reinforced
- Converted
- Rebuilt
- Modified several times
We work from what is actually on the equipment.
That can mean fabricating:

Hydraulic Fabrication & Repair Support
Welding and machining often overlap with hydraulic work.
Examples can include:

- Reservoir repairs or modifications

- Hard-line support
- Hose routing improvements
- Pin and pivot repairs
- Custom adapters or mounting hardware
Because Mondak also works on the hydraulic system itself, we can look at how the fabricated component affects the rest of the machine.

Fabrication can also become part of an engine, transmission or repower project.

A replacement engine or component may be mechanically compatible without being a direct bolt-in.

Spindle & Axle-End Repair
Machining and welding capability also support Mondak's Spindle & Axle-End Repair work.
Depending on the axle and repair, that may involve:
- Bearing-related surfaces
- Sleeves
- Spacers
- Related axle components
- Wheel-end repair pieces
- Hard-to-find components
Not every axle or spindle should be repaired the same way.
The component design and damage determine whether machining, welding or replacement is appropriate.
Portable Line Boring & Bore Welding
Mondak's CLIMAX BB5000 line boring systems and CLIMAX BW1000 bore welder extend our machining capability into the field.
That allows us to tackle worn equipment joints by combining:
- Bore welding
- Line boring
- Pin work
- Bushing work
- Machining
- Welding
- Fabrication
A badly worn pivot can require several of those capabilities before the joint is right again.
Repair Around the Cause
A broken fabricated part can be the result of something else going wrong.
A bracket may keep cracking because of:
- Misalignment
- Excessive movement
- Worn bushings
- Vibration
- Loose mounting
- Incorrect loading
- Another component contacting it
- Previous modification
If we can identify why a part keeps failing, we would rather address that than repeatedly weld the same crack.
Field & Shop Capability
Some welding and fabrication work can be performed where the equipment is located.
Other repairs are better handled in the shop where machining, setup and more extensive fabrication can be performed.
For large machines, Mondak can often:
- Diagnose the problem in the field.
- Remove the component if necessary.
- Perform machining or fabrication in the shop.
- Return and reinstall the repaired component.
That can be much more practical than moving an entire machine.
One Repair Can Cross Several Trades
Heavy equipment does not care which department a failure belongs to.
A repair may start as a broken mount and turn into:
