It is finding the cause and getting the machine back to work.

It May Only Act Up Under Load
Some problems are easy to find because something is obviously broken.
Others show up only after the machine gets hot, the grain tank fills or the combine is working hard.
A machine that loses performance under load may involve the engine, cooling system, hydrostatic drive, hydraulic system, electrical controls, or a mechanical component creating more resistance than it should.
That is why replacing the component that looks suspicious is not always the fastest way to get back into the field.
We test what the machine is doing and follow the problem to its source.
Mechanical, Hydraulic & Electronic Systems Work Together
Modern combines have a lot happening at the same time.
Hydraulic and hydrostatic systems still do the work, while sensors, controllers, solenoids and electronic controls determine how many of those systems respond.
At the same time, belts, bearings, chains, shafts, drives and threshing components still have to mechanically transfer the power.
Mondak can troubleshoot across those systems instead of stopping when the problem crosses from mechanical into hydraulic or electrical.
Heat Deserves Attention
Combines work hard, and operating temperature matters.
If the machine is running hotter than it normally does, the answer is not automatically a radiator or thermostat.
Depending on the symptoms, we may look at:
- Cooling package restriction
- Fan operation
- Hydraulic or hydrostatic heat
- Engine load
- Internal hydraulic leakage
- Worn pumps or motors
- Belt or bearing problems
- Airflow
- Sensors and controls
- Aftertreatment problems
The important part is whether something has changed, and why.
Older Combines Still Have a Job to Do
There are plenty of older combines earning their keep.
The challenge comes when a hydraulic component, control, shaft, fitting or other part is difficult to find or no longer supported.
When practical, Mondak can look beyond simply ordering the original part.
That may include:
- Repairing the existing component
- Rebuilding hydraulic components
- Cross-referencing replacements
- Machining unavailable parts
- Fabricating brackets or components
- Adapting hydraulic connections
- Repairing shafts, bores or worn mechanical components
If the machine is worth keeping, we will look at reasonable ways to keep it working.
Field Repair Where the Combine Is
During harvest, hauling a combine to a shop may be the last thing you want to do.
