Mondak Equipment provides repair, troubleshooting, and inspection for aerial equipment, including self-propelled MEWPs and vehicle-mounted aerial devices.
Repair and Inspection From One Shop
Sometimes you need a machine repaired.
Sometimes the equipment is working fine but an annual inspection is coming due.
And sometimes an inspection finds something that needs more work.
We work on the mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems that keep the equipment operating, and when an inspection identifies a problem, we have the repair capabilities to help with the next step.
Aerial Equipment We Work On
Mondak works on both mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) and vehicle-mounted aerial devices.

Bucket Trucks & Vehicle-Mounted Aerial Devices
Mondak also works on insulated and non-insulated truck-mounted aerial equipment from manufacturers such as:
- Altec
- Terex / Hi-Ranger
- Versalift
- Elliott
- Dur-A-Lift
- and others
This includes telescopic, articulating, overcenter, non-overcenter, insulated, and non-insulated aerial devices.
We can work on the aerial device as well as the truck systems that support it, including hydraulics, PTO systems, electrical controls, outriggers, rotation systems, cylinders, hoses, and related equipment.
Annual & ANSI Aerial Inspections
Different types of aerial equipment have different inspection requirements.
MEWP Annual Inspections
Boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other MEWPs require an annual inspection no later than 13 months after the previous annual inspection, along with manufacturer-specific inspection requirements.
This includes equipment such as:
- JLG
- Genie
- Skyjack
- Snorkel
- and similar MEWPs
Vehicle-Mounted Aerial Inspections
Bucket trucks and other vehicle-mounted aerial devices require periodic inspection under the applicable ANSI A92.2 requirements and manufacturer procedures.
Mondak can inspect the equipment and help identify hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, structural, and control issues that need attention.
Dielectric Testing
Applicable insulated aerial devices require annual dielectric testing to verify the insulating system continues to perform as required.
Mondak provides dielectric testing for insulated bucket trucks and aerial devices from manufacturers such as:
- Altec
- Terex / Hi-Ranger
- Versalift
- and others
Testing may also be required after certain repairs, component replacement, suspected damage, or other events involving the insulating system.
If a unit does not pass testing, Mondak can also help determine what needs to be repaired before the equipment is tested again.
NDT & Major Structural Inspections
Vehicle-mounted aerial devices have additional structural inspection requirements as they age.
Under current ANSI A92.2 requirements, a major structural inspection is required after 15 years of service and every 10 years thereafter, or as directed by the manufacturer.
This is considerably more involved than a normal annual inspection.
Depending on the equipment and inspection scope, the work may include:
- Disassembly
- Removal of pins or components
- Cleaning and surface preparation
- Sanding or coating removal where required
- NDT testing with a qualified third-party NDT provider
- Structural inspection
- Weld inspection
- Load testing where applicable
- Reassembly
Major structural inspections can take considerably more time than a normal annual inspection because the critical areas have to be properly accessed and prepared.
If the inspection finds damage, wear, cracked welds, worn bores, pins, bushings, or other problems, Mondak also has machining, fabrication, hydraulic, mechanical, and repair capabilities to help with the next step.
What Is Your Equipment Due For?
MEWP Annual Inspection
No later than 13 months after the previous annual inspection
For JLG, Genie, Skyjack, Snorkel, and other boom lifts and scissor lifts.
Vehicle-Mounted Aerial Inspection
Periodic inspection, commonly handled annually
For bucket trucks and other vehicle-mounted aerial devices.
Dielectric Testing
Annually
For applicable insulated aerial devices.
Major Structural Inspection
At 15 years, then every 10 years
For vehicle-mounted aerial devices under the applicable A92.2 requirements, unless the manufacturer specifies otherwise.
MEWP Structural / NDT Inspection
As required
Based on manufacturer requirements, equipment condition, damage, major repairs, accident history, or inspection findings.

When an Inspection Finds a Problem
An inspection report is only part of the job if something needs to be repaired.
Mondak can help address problems involving:

The inspection and the repair do not have to become two completely separate projects.
Sometimes You Already Know What Is Wrong
Not every repair starts with troubleshooting.
You may already know what failed.
The problem may be that the part is obsolete, unavailable, difficult to source, or you simply cannot find anyone willing to take on the repair.
Depending on the equipment and the problem, Mondak can look at options such as:
- Repairing or rebuilding the existing component
- Cross-referencing replacement parts
- Repairing hydraulic cylinders
- Repairing worn shafts or bores
- Machining replacement components
- Fabricating brackets or structural parts
- Adapting hydraulic components
- Repairing wiring and electrical systems
- Updating controls
If the equipment is worth repairing, we are willing to look at practical ways to keep it working.
Field & Shop Service
Some aerial equipment repairs and inspections make sense in the field.
Other work is better handled in the Mondak shop where we have access to machining, fabrication, hydraulic repair, testing equipment, and additional tooling.
We can help determine the practical approach based on the equipment and what needs to be done.
