Truck A/C & Heating Repair
Mondak Equipment diagnoses and repairs A/C and heating systems on commercial trucks, vocational equipment and fleet vehicles.
A Working Truck Still Needs a Working Cab
A truck can run perfectly and still be miserable to operate when the A/C quits in July or the heat will not keep up in winter.
The goal is to find out why it stopped working properly.
Truck A/C Repair
We troubleshoot problems such as:
- A/C not cooling
- Cooling that fades as the day gets hotter
- System works intermittently
- Compressor not engaging
- Compressor noise or failure
- Refrigerant leaks
- Poor airflow
- Blower problems
- Condenser and evaporator issues
- Pressure-related problems
- Electrical and control faults
A Recharge Is Not Always the Repair
If an A/C system is low on refrigerant, there is usually a reason.
Simply adding refrigerant may get the cab cold again for a while, but it does not repair a leaking hose, fitting, seal, condenser, evaporator or compressor.
When appropriate, we look for the cause before deciding what the system needs.
Cold air is the result. Finding the failure is the repair.
Compressors, Hoses & Components
Truck A/C systems live in a tough environment.
Heat, vibration, engine movement, road debris and long operating hours can affect:
- Compressors
- Condensers
- Evaporators
- Receivers and dryers
- Expansion devices
- Refrigerant hoses
- Fittings and seals
- Clutches and control valves
- Fans and blowers
- Pressure and temperature sensors
A failed compressor may also leave contamination in the system, so replacing the compressor alone is not always enough.
Electrical & Climate-Control Problems
Modern HVAC systems depend heavily on electrical controls.
We can diagnose problems involving:
- Fuses and relays
- Wiring and connectors
- Pressure switches
- Temperature sensors
- Blower motors
- Blower resistors and modules
- Compressor commands
- Cab controls
- Actuators and blend doors
- Power and ground circuits
Sometimes the refrigerant circuit is fine and the problem is entirely electrical.
Heating & Defrost Systems
Cold-weather cab problems matter just as much.
Mondak can troubleshoot:
- Poor heater output
- No heat
- Heater-core problems
- Coolant-flow issues
- Blower problems
- Defrost problems
- Temperature-control issues
- Electrical controls and actuators
A heating problem may be in the cab HVAC system, or it may point back to an engine cooling-system issue.
We look at both when necessary.
Vocational & Heavy Equipment HVAC
Mondak works on more than highway trucks.
A/C and heating problems also show up in:
- Service trucks
- Bucket trucks
- Crane trucks
- Construction equipment
- Agricultural equipment
- Material-handling equipment
- Other heavy vocational equipment
The equipment may be different, but the operator still needs a cab that works.
Fix the Cause
If the A/C is weak, the heat is inconsistent or the system has already been recharged and lost cooling again, tell us what it is doing.
Give us the truck or equipment information and the symptoms. We'll start there.
